Confessions of a Lash Artist - "The Appointment That Didn't Go as Planned"

I once had a client refer her mom who was older in her 70’s. She came in for a full set so I booked a 2 hour appointment. I was taping her bottom lashes down when I could tell she was getting a little uncomfortable I put the eye pads on and told her to keep her eyes shut for the duration of the appointment, she kept opening them and started to hyperventilate.

I asked if she was ok and she asked if I could lash her with her eyes open. I told her no and that it would also burn her eyes if they were open. She then sat up and asked if she could do it sitting up! Obviously I told her no and advised her to not go through with the appointment, She ended up leaving and I was stuck with a 2 hour unpaid for gap.
